ASI 7322 Surface-Mounted Soap Basket
This Type 304 stainless steel soap basket has a satin finish on visible surfaces and open wire spacing that lets excess water drain away from soap and promotes drying. When properly installed, it supports up to 10 lb (4.5 kg) of bath products. The unit measures 11-15/32 inches wide by 2-9/32 inches high by 6-1/2 inches deep.
Installation and placement
Surface-mount the basket using the four supplied #6 x 1-3/8-inch self-threading screws and supplied anchors in suitably prepared walls; wall preparation is by others. The basket’s post and flange assemblies hang on the mounting plates, then lock in place with the stainless steel setscrew at the bottom perimeter of the flanges; a hex key is provided. Use suitable alternate mounting hardware if wall conditions require it, and waterproof screw penetrations in wet-area tile installations.
For placement, ASI’s guidance for the cited 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards gives a maximum top-of-dish height of 48 inches above the finished floor with clear floor reach access, with lower maximums for the specified obstructed-reach conditions. For general utility, ASI recommends placing the basket’s top rim 55 to 65 inches above the shower floor.
