This surface-mounted towel bar has triple chrome-plated Zamak end brackets and a 3/4-inch-diameter, 21-gauge triple chrome-plated steel tube. Tamper-resistant stainless steel set screws lock the brackets to concealed, pre-mounted wall plates. The 24-inch length is one of the manufacturer's listed size options.
Mounting and placement
The installer supplies fasteners suited to the wall conditions. For stud walls, provide concealed backing secured to the studs; without backing, use toggle bolts. For solid walls, the manufacturer specifies plastic or fiber plugs or expansion bolts. Manufacturer ADA installation guidance places the bar centerline at 48 inches above the finished floor for forward reach, or no higher than 46 inches where access is by side reach over an obstruction. Confirm placement and wall support for the installation conditions.
The manufacturer states that the unit meets appropriate FHA and other federal specifications.
