ASI 0551 Recessed Bed Pan and Urinal Cabinet
The ASI 0551 is a recessed stainless steel cabinet that holds one bedpan and one urinal bottle. The bedpan sits on the shelf and is held in place by the retaining rod; the urinal bottle is stored at the bottom of the cabinet. Both items are by others, not included, and must be checked for fit.
Capacity and construction
- 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish.
- Overall dimensions: 15" W x 28" H x 5-1/4" D.
- Door: 1/2" double-pan construction with No-Flex core, mounted on a heavy-duty 3/16" diameter stainless steel multi-staked piano hinge and held closed by a magnetic catch.
- Includes one stainless steel shelf and one 3/8" diameter solid stainless steel bedpan-holder rod.
- Top and bottom 1/2" openings allow convection airflow.
Installation and fit
Allow a rough wall opening of 13-3/8" W x 26-1/2" H x 5-3/8" D. Secure the recessed cabinet to the wall through its concealed mounting holes with #10 self-threading screws (by others). Manufacturer installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies installing the bedpan shelf no higher than 48" above finished floor. Check the actual bedpan and urinal bottle for fit before installation.
