Core Regal configurations

Water closet, exposed manual

Popular exposed top-spud models include the Regal 110 and 111 families. Closet options include 1.6 gpf and high-efficiency 1.28 gpf selections. XL packages include installation hardware such as a sweat-solder adapter kit.

Urinal, exposed manual

Common choices include Regal 180 and 186 families. Flush volumes include 1.0 gpf for low consumption, 0.5 gpf for WaterSense targets when paired with the right fixture, and 0.125 gpf for ultra-low systems.

Touch-free and hydraulic options

Regal is available in factory sensor configurations and can also be upgraded using side-mount sensor operators on compatible manual valves. A hydraulic push-button version is available for remote or concealed actuation where vandal resistance or design constraints call for it.

Selection guidance from our team

  • Match the valve to the fixture. Use the bowl or urinal manufacturer’s rated flush volume to maintain rinse performance.
  • XL package details. XL variants include the sweat-solder adapter and related hardware, which speeds retrofit work on copper stub-outs.
  • Materials and internals. Semi-red brass castings and chloramine resistant diaphragm components help maintain performance in harsh water conditions.
  • Compliance. Use the ADA non-hold-open handle and follow local code for mounting height, clearances, and vacuum breaker positioning.

How to order Regal correctly

  • Choose the valve family for the fixture type and spud location
  • Select the rated flush volume to match the bowl or urinal
  • Pick actuation style and package
  • Confirm stop type, tailpiece length, and vacuum breaker tube length
  • If selecting a sensor configuration, match site voltage and power method
  • Add any installation accessories required by local code

Common retrofit scenarios

  • Replacing existing exposed manual valves on copper supplies using an XL package with a sweat-solder adapter
  • Upgrading manual Regal bodies with a side-mount sensor operator for touch-free operation while retaining a mechanical override
  • Changing urinal volumes from 1.0 to 0.5 gpf only when the fixture is rated for the lower volume
  • Verifying vacuum breaker tube length, spud coupling size, and tailpiece adjustment during replacement to avoid fit issues

Popular models

  • Regal 111 1.6 gpf or 1.28 gpf for exposed closet applications
  • Regal 180 1.0 gpf for standard low-consumption urinals
  • Regal 186 0.5 gpf for WaterSense urinal applications, with 0.125 gpf available for compatible fixtures
  • Regal sensor urinal configurations for hands-free operation with a mechanical override on the body

Maintenance and parts

Regal shares a broad ecosystem of Sloan service parts. Common items include diaphragm kits for specific flow rates, handle repair kits, vacuum breaker assemblies, and angle stop components. Most maintenance can be completed from the front of the valve with standard tools, minimizing downtime.
