Why We Recommend the World Dryer Q-974A2 VERDEdri

The World Dryer Q-974A2 VERDEdri Hand Dryer combines high-speed drying, low energy use, and a surface-mounted ADA-compliant design in one durable unit. We often recommend this model for projects that want to avoid the added labor and wall modifications associated with recessing a conventional dryer. Its white aluminum cover provides a clean commercial appearance, while the 12-second dry time and 950-watt power rating balance user convenience with operating efficiency.

The factory-installed HEPA filter helps reduce contaminants from the drying air stream, and antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, and fungus on treated surfaces. Adjustable three-speed controls allow the dryer’s airflow, sound level, energy consumption, and drying performance to be tailored to the restroom environment.

Best Applications

The Q-974A2 is well suited for schools, healthcare facilities, offices, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, transportation facilities, and other high-use commercial restrooms. Its universal 120–277V electrical compatibility simplifies specification across facilities with different voltage requirements, while the vandal-resistant aluminum cover and replaceable motor brushes support long-term commercial use.

Quick Tip

Do not assume the highest motor setting is best for every restroom. After installation, test the three available speed settings and select the lowest setting that still provides acceptable drying performance. This can reduce sound and energy use in classrooms, offices, healthcare spaces, and other noise-sensitive locations.

Common Question

Does the World Dryer Q-974A2 need to be recessed for ADA compliance?
No. The VERDEdri is designed to satisfy applicable ADA protrusion requirements as a surface-mounted hand dryer when installed at the proper location and mounting height. This can simplify installation because a recessed wall box is not required. The complete restroom layout and mounting height should still be reviewed for applicable accessibility requirements.
