Hand Dryers Used at McDonald’s
At ProDryers, we have sold hand dryers to McDonald’s franchises. Over the years we have seen a trend we can share with our customers since we have received many calls asking what brand of hand dryers are used in McDonald’s fast food restaurants.
Back before high speed hand dryers were born, the World Dryer A Series hand dryer led the market not only with McDonald’s but pretty much dominated everywhere. McDonald’s was a major buyer of the World Dryer A Series hand dryer among many establishments. Many McDonald's still use the World Dryer A Series today. But most of our callers inquire on the new high speed hand dryers used at McDonald's. World Dryer recently introduced the SlimDri hand dryer which can install over the same installation holes as the older A series. The SlimDri is ADA compliant and considered a high speed hand dryer which dries hands in 10-15 seconds. Some McDonald’s restaurant franchisees are ordering individually from us and have purchased the Xlerator hand dryer. Being USA made, the Xlerator is a solid choice. You’ll find the Xlerator not only in McDonald’s, but in thousands of top name establishments like Buffalo Wild Wings, Home Depot, Applebee’s, Target, Gillette Stadium, Disney World, Cedar Point, Coca Cola’s manufacturing facilities, Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway restaurants, and the list just goes on and on.
Many McDonald's use an Xlerator and many McDonald's naturally migrate to a World Dryer SlimDri. The Xlerator is fast, powerful, super-durable, last on average of 7-10 years, built for high traffic usage that can withstand theme park and stadium restroom traffic levels, and simply keep the restroom lines moving fast. The SlimDri is ADA compliant as a surface mount and can easily replace the World Dryer A Series with a simple installation. We may also suggest the American Dryer ExtremeAir. The ExtremeAir is USA made like the Xlerator and also dries hands with a powerful blast of air in 10-15 seconds. The ExtremeAir comes in three versions: GXT, EXT, CPC. The ExtremeAir has an adjustable motor for controlling sound and speed, but most McDonald's restaurants would benefit from leaving the ExtremeAir at the highest speed resulting in the fastest dry time. Fast food customers want to get in and out of the restroom as quickly as possible. Our last recommendation would be a Dyson Airblade V which moves air at 420 MPH and uses two HEPA filters to eliminate 99.97% of all bacteria in the air. Whatever the choice, McDonald's like all fast food establishments should make sure they buy the fastest and most durable hand dryer that fits the budget.
